In a world that spins faster than ever with new trends and technology evolving every day, innovative thinkers are more important now than ever. Innovation is an unconventional way of thinking to bring about new ideas. Here are three of our favourite innovators of the last decade.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google
India-born Pichai rose from poverty and up the ranks of the world’s biggest tech giant, Google. Pichai unveiled Google assistant in 2016. Google's assistant offers voice-commands, voice searching, and voice-activated device control. It can send messages, start navigation, and book dates into your calendar all by voice command. It is designed to respond in a conversational manner and is far more advanced than its competitors - Alexa, Siri, and Cortana. Although Pichai chooses to live a humble lifestyle, his net worth is $600 Million.
Jeff Bezos, CEO, and founder of Amazon
Although Amazon was originally founded in 1995, he has completely revolutionised online shopping in the last decade. Innovations such as one-click shopping, free same-day delivery, and dash buttons. Say you run out of toilet paper? Simply press your Twinsaver dash button next to your toilet and Amazon has placed an order and billed you for it before you can even flush. Bezos has a net worth of over $189.1 Billion - even higher than Bill Gates who’s net worth is 110.7 Billion.
Elon Musk, founder of PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX, and SolarCity
Musk has been a driving force in countless innovations of the past decade. He has been likened to Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, and Henry Ford. Musk is responsible for fast e-payments, being able to search by location for restaurants, etc. and SpaceX’s Falcon Rocket. Having been born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa, he gives hope to inspiring innovators with a net worth of $59,3 billion.
Innovative thinkers aren’t born that way. They gain their thinking skills from past experiences. This helps them to develop their innovative thinking, allowing them to improve on their ability to generate new ideas.
