Dux and Duxlings Student Support and Development
We’re all about the power of people. Watching individuals find their purpose, grow, level up, and make a difference is what fuels us. It’s in everything we do—helping people change their story and inspire others to do the same.
Dux, powered by People Dynamics, is a non-profit company that kicked off in November 2014, but our journey actually started back in 2002 when we first began working with students. Over the past 23 years, we’ve been all about creating spaces where students can thrive, grab opportunities, and crush their goals. Whether it’s through our online or in-person coaching and training, we’re here to help people grow and succeed.
Based in Johannesburg (and online for the world to access!), we work with both corporates and individuals, offering dynamic, impact-driven methods that actually get results.
We are a Level 2 BBBEE Company
We provide creative, practical, and super effective training and coaching programs for high school and college students. Our goal is to help students build the confidence and skills they need to step into the workforce as a standout, ready-to-make-an-impact individual—whether as an employee or entrepreneur! We’re here to equip them to take on their careers like pros.
With the job market getting tougher for high school and university grads, we saw a real need for exciting, practical, and fun youth development programs that actually get young adults ready for the workplace or to dive into entrepreneurship.
MEET THE TEAM
Our facilitators are trained by People Dynamics and are all about helping our youth grow and thrive. With a mix of different backgrounds, interests, and experiences, they’re diverse enough to connect with a wide range of students.
The Dux team brings over 50 years of experience (combined) in people development, specializing in training, coaching, interventions, feedback, and reflection.
Elaine Thompson
Founder / CEO
I've always been passionate about psychology and people, so I started with a degree in psychology and sociology, followed by an Honours in clinical and counselling psychology in 1997. In 2003, I founded People Dynamics / DUX, growing it into a thriving hub for leadership development, coaching, and entrepreneurial support. As a certified Results Coach and registered assessor, I love helping people feel valued and overcome challenges. My biggest professional win? Seeing my clients and students thrive. Personally, my greatest joys are my incredible daughters and my marriage to my best friend—my rock through it all!
Jenny Findlay
Head of Housing
With 20 years of experience in bursary management at Peermont, I’m all about helping people reach their potential and smash their goals, while supporting teams and organizations to create real impact. As a coach, trainer, facilitator, and project manager, I’m always ready to go the extra mile for my clients, and there’s nothing better than watching people grow and make a difference in their lives and communities.
Outside of work, I’m a wife, mom, grandmother, and sister, and my time at Life Line as a counsellor and fundraising director gave me a whole new set of skills.
Pat Kekana

I’ve always been passionate about helping people overcome challenges and reach their full potential, which led me to study Social Work and dive into Counselling and Training with a focus on empowerment. As a trained trainer, facilitator, counsellor, and assessor, I absolutely love supporting others in their personal growth. Nothing beats the feeling of watching people thrive and achieve their goals—it’s what truly drives me and makes all the hard work worthwhile!
Katleho Mohono

A leadership development and coaching professional with nearly a decade of experience in student leadership, corporate education, and coaching. Holds a BA in Organisational Psychology and HR Management from the University of the Witwatersrand. A founding member of the African Leadership University and former ALX Nairobi community manager. Co-founder of NiaDelta and board member of the Leadership Forum. Passionate about youth development and committed to empowering others to lead and thrive.
Keira Thompson
Project Administrator
I’m Keira, Project Administrator at People Dynamics/DUX for the past three years. I thrive on turning chaos into success, managing our Bursary program and DUX events. Finishing school at 16, I jumped straight into the hustle and have been learning and growing ever since. Passionate about business and organisation, My love for business keeps me energised, and I’m determined to leave a positive mark—at work, in the community, and maybe even in a few laughs along the way!

Meet Jordan, the financial whiz and procurement pro at DUX! From balancing budgets to securing the best deals, she keeps everything running smoothly. With sharp financial skills and a knack for streamlining processes, Jordan always finds ways to save money—while keeping things fun. Outside of work, she loves reading, gaming, and painting, proving that work and play go hand in hand!

I’m a project manager who’s got the numbers down and the big-picture impact in mind! With a Master’s in Sociology, I blend academic insight with a creative, problem-solving mindset to tackle projects in a way that’s as strategic as it is people-centered, with a dash of creativity. I’m all about making things happen—whether it’s managing cross-functional teams or crunching the financials—but I’m also passionate about creating lasting, positive change for both the business and the communities we serve. Efficiency meets social impact in everything I do, and I’m here to drive innovative solutions that make a difference.

Hi, I’m Phomolo Sean Makume, your future favourite Business Administrator. By day, I juggle spreadsheets and solve problems faster than a caffeine-fuelled squirrel on a mission. When I’m not making sure your business runs smoother than my well-rehearsed excuses for skipping leg day, you’ll find me indulging in sports that leave me out of breath, but somehow still convinced that winning is just around the corner. I’m also a fan of dark humour - because why not laugh at life’s chaos instead of crying about it?

A "Comms Sparkly Princess" with a sharp legal mind, I navigate complexities with precision and passion. My aviation experience and deep understanding of various frameworks fuel my commitment to empowering others with knowledge and skills. As a dedicated committee member of the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists, I advocate for the next generation of innovators in STEMI. Driven by the belief in pushing beyond comfort zones, I champion continuous growth.

Tebatso Malemone is a modern rural lady who is fascinated by the busy city lights and the open minded people. I got myself into customer service so I could learn how to deal and handle different people. So, With that been said I today am part of the Dux family where I mainly deal and handle student enquiries and this can only work with a few sighs, screams and laughs-LOL. I love knowing that I made a difference in someone's life that keeps me alive. Things I do outside of work is I enjoy visiting my loved ones and sometimes I invite them over. I enjoy a bit of fun here and there with some peace and quiet.

Outside work, it’s all about music, wellness, and keeping people at the heart of it all—because balance is key!

Howzit, I'm Rachel! The creative brain behind DUX’s socials and designs. If you’ve ever laughed at a DUX post, saved a study tip, or admired a slick design—yep, that was me. I run the socials, create the graphics, and make sure DUX looks as good online as it does in real life. Basically, I turn ideas into ducking awesome content and keep things looking lekker while doing it.
