Dux Launches to a Successful Start

Dux Launches to a Successful Start

People Dynamics proudly launched our Student Support and Development programme, Dux, on Wednesday 23 November 2016.

The event was attended by representatives from the University of Pretoria, Peermont Education Trust, Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, Macsteel, Peermont, SAICA, Star Schools, Lifeline East Rand and current students on the programme.  Elaine Thompson, owner of People Dynamics and Dux, introduced this student support and development programme and explained how students can grow from the programme throughout their tertiary education, as they learn practical skills to help them reach their full potential.

“The Dux programme aims to develop healthy, functional and employable graduates”, explained Elaine. The students are equipped with skills to develop emotional intelligence,  manage their time, focus on creating a healthy and supportive friends group, and also acquiring job interview and preparation skills, including being put in mock interviews. Once a student graduates from the Dux programme, they are placed on an Elite Employability list where Dux works with institutions to help find employment for these graduates in the workplace.

Attendees were also introduced to Duxlings, the high school student development programme for grade 8 – 12 learners. Some of the current East Rand-based Dux students spoke about their personal experiences with the programme and how it has enabled them to unlock incredible opportunities for themselves.

In 2017, the Dux team will be focusing on growing the number of learners who are put through the Dux and Duxling programme, expanding their offering nationally.  This will be achieved by the launch of their online, interactive learning platform.

Online Learning for Student Convenience

One of the benefits of signing up to the Dux programme is that all development and skills material is available online for each student. This means that they can access the resources from anywhere, without having to be in a classroom or lecture hall.

By joining the Dux members club, students will also get access to The Wall – an online community that offers student support forums, interactive social networking, access to tutors and motivational content.
