About The Program

Self-awareness is knowing who you are.  It is knowing your strengths and weaknesses, your likes and dislikes, your wants and needs as well as the ability to critically evaluate yourself with openness, honesty, and accuracy.

Self-awareness is the vital foundation in the three emotional competencies:

1. Emotional Awareness

  • Do you know what emotions you are feeling, and why?
  • Can you link your feelings to what you think, say, and do?
  • Are you able to recognise how your feelings affect your performance?
  • Do you have the ability to use your values to guide your decision making?

2. Accurate Self-Assessment

  • Are you aware of your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Do you know your resources, your abilities, and your limits?
  • Are you open to feedback, new perspectives, continuous learning, and self-improvement?
  • Can you laugh at yourself?

3. Self-Confidence

  • Do you present yourself with self-assurance?
  • Can you go out on a limb for what is right?
  • Are you decisive and able to make sound decisions?
